That's right! And that's why it's called MAKANI. Let me tell you the story:

In 2016, I was finishing my degree in international business; thanks to a friend, I'd been working and studying since my second semester of college. Upon graduation, I didn't want to enter the workforce immediately; instead, I wanted to take a break, as the past few years had been very intense for me.

(In addition to studying, working part-time, and being part of student groups, I had my own business: A student house that I called La Casa del Sol.)

At that time, my dreams were very intense and revealed very important things to me, so I decided to take a lucid dreaming course, to go beyond receiving messages while sleeping, and to develop the ability to ask questions and set intentions.

And so it was. I reached the point where I could modify situations and request the presence of my teachers, ask them questions, and of course, get answers or at least clues from them.

It was then, that in one of my dreams that simulated the graduation ceremony and the presentation of the thesis work, Samuel, my teacher, sitting among the juries, told me that what I had done was not my real thesis topic, and that to discover what followed next in my life I should travel to Siwa, an Oasis in the Egyptian desert.

I had never heard of this place, nor had I imagined traveling to Egypt.

But, since I have complete trust in life and the messages it gives me, two months later I was on my way to my destination. I knew where to go, I knew what I should study while I was there, and I was committed to volunteering at an English school for children and women, founded by Yuridea, a Colombian-Dutch woman.

It was there that I first heard MAKANI: My Place. And it was there that I fell in love with the simple, authentic lifestyle in harmony with nature (especially with the cosmos and the stars).

I'll soon share more about this fascinating journey, the gifts I was given to share, and the wonderful people I was fortunate enough to meet.
