Why slow, timeless and in harmony with nature?
Because for me there is no other possible way.
It's slow because I don't want you to buy one of our garments on impulse, because it's trendy, or because marketing told you to; I want you to do it because you feel a connection to the story, to our deeper purpose, and because when you wear it, you feel the magic and love with which it's made. I want you to take the time to wear it as many times as you want and feel something different when you do.
It's timeless because that's human nature: timeless and eternal. We've been told a story in which we die, in which time is limited, in which we expire, as if we were products. I want to remind you of another story, in which you are eternal, and so you take the time to live each stage, each process, and make each decision calmly. In which you have time to do what you need and want, it's enough, abundant, and sufficient; and in which neither you nor your products have an expiration date. You can be in this world as long as you decide, and you can choose the treasures that accompany you along the way, treasures like your MAKTUB garments.
And it's in harmony with nature because we are part of it; it's one of our closest and most enduring ties. Thanks to it, we breathe, live, eat, and dress. Because we come from it and return to it; and so should the clothes we wear.
